Great graphic effects! It was a bit slow, for some explicable reason, I felt sleepy in the middle of it, which is *le gasp*.. unthinkable! Considering how I stayed up LATE til 2am trying to finish the robes and also took part of my work afternoon off to get the robes finished for the night. I should be in the Top #10 HP fan list!!! XD
Cosplayers for the night was myself, my lil bro, Nas, Syam, Leny and Mia (cause the robe didn’t fit Pol, Leny’s brother). Iz couldn’t make it and I know he was so looking forward to it. Fei came at the perfect time and we all started taking photos, it was fun! A guy dressed in a sparkly starry shirt and wearing a pink headband cosplaying as a wizard dressed in muggle clothes asked if he could take photos with us! I was glad there were other cosplayers as well =)
Also, my colleagues joined me and this is the first time they’ve seen me like this, and I think its good that they’re exposed to the real me. Short skirts, nosestud and ALL! I hate pretending to be some prim and proper little goody two shoes in office!! *0* Muahaha. I think they were ..uhmm… speechless.

On Saturday (6th Jan), EmmaGoodEgg planned and hosted a photoshoot cum costume dressup for Bruneian bloggers she wanted to feature in a Vogue-style list.
I felt a little inadequate to be included, because there isn’t much I have contributed in my posts/opinions about Brunei (Selfish aren’t I? XD) but I know I am trying to push our gang forward in terms of creativity and hoping we will influence others too.
Our goal to have a cosplay (costume playing) convention in Brunei may be realised sooner than we thought. We keep hearing more and more costuming events and now at the start of 2007, Emma is hosting a mini costume party already.
For our theme, we decided with “Japanese influence” as this was one of the biggest basis that formed our friendship. Japanese music, language, anime and manga was our common ground and it still is. Fei wore a pretty red kimono while Syam and I were almost casual in his gakuran (Japanese school boy uniform) and I in my gothic lolita skirt. It was Nas and Izyan who went all out and wore a tengu (demon) outfit and a ninja getup respectively.

In a twist of circumstances, the dark night, and us being mostly black, and perhaps the creepiness of Nas’s outfit and my Rathi got to the art directors, we got a “horror” theme. This strikes me as funny because normally (for us), our clothes aren’t anywhere near scary! XD I loved the result though. Fei was asked to roll up her eyes and for Syam and I to give an “angry look” while Nas and Izyan got their limbs rearranged.

All in all had a wonderful time. Thank you Emma and hope to meet again in another costume party!
