Going Miniature

Posted by – June 10, 2010

As an update from my previous post.

I received my tiny doll more than a week ago. She is the tiniest bjd I’ve owned! At only 11cm tall. My smallest had been Lati Green Lea, a 26cm tall boy.

Aww cute.. (by lisadragon)
Here she is at arrival

I made her a fur wig (my first time sewing a fur wig – amazing what anyone can do in desperation >_< ) and made her a dress

Kay, my sweet tiny girl (by lisadragon)
Complete! Sewing for her is difficult as way too tiny to machine sew!

Apart from that, I’m playing (and taking pics) of my other toys as well. 2 months ago I bought 4 capsule with robot figures in them and I haven’t gotten around to taking their pics..

Introduction (by lisadragon)
Here’s one with Kay. I’m not sure what they’re called. Drommel or some sort?

In other news, I had a talk with airbiscuit the other day and I’m inspired to do more with my photography. Its an on and off thing. But his story about the scene in Korea during his trip at the ASEAN-Korea art was so motivating. I truly wish I can be selected for next year’s! Until then, I have to do something more in my style of photos. Concepts, manipulation and self expression.

Which makes me wonder if anyone likes seeing these types of photos. What’s your favourite styles? :D

Seamstress Again

The Seamstress (by lisadragon)

I have recently sold my wideangle lens, probably some more camera stuff. I’m not inspired in photography at the moment.. People go thru it, I’m sure you’ve gone thru it.

To my flickr contacts, just a heads up. There wont be many Self Portaits (if any) as I’m concentrating on my BJD hobby I’ve left neglected for 2 years now. I find peace in it, and that’s what I need right now. Some parts of my life sucks and this is my escape. Photography doesnt help, so hoping by creating stuff, does.

Congrats Chelsea!

Champion of English Premier League 2010!

Congratulations to Chelsea for winning this year’s EPL! It was close last year and I’m happy they made it this year. Chelsea Chelsea!! :)

Yesterday Sunday, we had a family lunch at Mangrove and I brought Q along =D It was just one of those nice days. Thx bebeh xoxo.

On the way to the Malaysian Expo held at Indoor Stadium, Q saw this huge bird at a pond near the Mentiri Highway. What bird is it? Curious, we went and took a photo of it, shame I didn’t bring my zoom lens =/

At the Expo, got those “loss kiloss” detoxin patches and weight loss patches by Citra. I’ve already tried the “loss kiloss” patches last night, man .. this morning they turned BLACK from all my toxins -_-;; Will try the weight loss at home as my brother tried it and it was heaty! Wouldn’t wanna suffer tht in office =P

Q Selfie (by lisadragon)
Q self portrait using 50mm

Yesterday (Friday) went on a quick roadtrip to Miri to accompany the Bebeh to look for his boots. He likes wearing boots =P I picked him up at 8am, arrived in Miri at 10.30am .. this and that and back in BSB by 4.30pm. Quick eh? Unfortunately we didnt find any, so continued on our shopping trip to Manggis Mall and Yayasan.. sigh, no luck either. We decided to go back at rest, arriving at home by 7pm. Haha far different from my usual Miri trips where at 7pm, I’m still stuck at the border. Yayness for no immigration queue~

What I did get was a new book “Blue Blood” by.. erm.. forgot, but yes, you guessed it, another vampire story. Synopsis sounded interesting though, so I got the first book of the 4 series. I got through the first chapter last night and it was a different take again on vampires. I think I’m an expert already on dragons and vampires stories and how different authors spin their take.

Dragons for example, Kate Forsyth did a changeling type dragon, Melanie Rawn with her Sunrunners communicating with dragons, Anne MacCaffrey with her planet of Pern and dragons as destroyer of Thread, Eragon and of course the famous dragons of DragonLance series. I believe dragons are much more open to different interpretation.. hence the many styles, but i like them all, mostly.

Vampires on the other hands are mostly standard nocturnal creatures who only comes out at night, and the rest gets played around with, such as allergy to garlic, crosses, have to sleep in coffins or not, how they were turned. I respect authors who experiments with the different characteristics but there’s only so much you can change until it doesn’t sound believable. Eg: Meyers who wrote Twilight. Hmmm vampires who comes out in the day and SHINES like crystals, ugh. I mean, I prefer Anne Rice, her formula works. Her Lestat is believable. But Edward Cullen? .. is downright rubbish. Sorry Twilight fans. I prefer having believable characteristics..

So what books do you love? :D

Great news today: Congrats to Ms Juliana Latif for getting engaged to Lester! =) I’m super happy for you both!

My day was very slow as I was super sleepy, couldn’t sleep until 3am.. I wasn’t doing anything but just willing myself to go to sleep since 12am. Sheesh! Hence I was just taking it easy today lol.

Now that I’m back home, I should work on my pending stuff..  but before I go, here’s a pic of Q

Iron Man 2

Posted by – May 4, 2010

Verdict: 9/10

Last night (Monday) was a movie date with Q. Thankfully we managed to avoid the big roundabout traffic jam as we were going from Muara to Kiulap only. The movie? It was great! Storyline was interesting, Eyecandy for both men and women, and something for any geeks, action peeps, comedy lovers. I fangirled all over Scarlett Johannson !! <3 I’d watch Iron Man 2 again ..

On other news: I’ve been bad and went shopping on EvilBay. Props for a photoshoot. It was too irresistible!! Watch this space ;)

Aaaaand to remind my lazy ass to do these stuff, I’m putting it here:

webstuff: dragongraphy, bruneirugby, hmyfamily
designstuff: logo streetshooter
lifestuff: craft area, print baju, finish FF13!, put up the white bg
shopstuff: fuji instax 100pc, fuji instax album, little tiny stickers

BYOB vs Sharks (by lisadragon)

Sadly, Sam had also announced his retirement from the rugby scene and today marks his last game. I hope he’ll still be active and I’ll still see him around often.

Later on at 8.30pm, KB Pythons met Knights for the first time for the FINALs, which was won by Knights. Congrats! And that concludes Rugby 2010 ~ Hoping to see more action next year!

Instant Love

Posted by – May 2, 2010

I got myself a new toy a few days ago. In fact, I’ve been wanting a Polaroid since last year, but the film was way too difficult to obtain, so I didn’t get one. In February, I heard the rumours of an LCA Instant Back, and it was confirmed a week later. I was overjoyed with the fact that my Instant Lust will finally be satisfied.

Two months on, I have yet to get myself an Instant Back as I’m waiting for the local Lomography store (Icklebooks Kiarong) to stock it. So, I went and got myself this Fujifilm Instax 20 camera, as I have seen it on display for years at Photokis, Yayasan.
